Becoming A Member

To become a member of the region's best water sports club is easy!  Click on the 'Join the Club' tab, download the application and waiver, fill them out, sign both and mail them in with your check.  You will be contacted by a Board Member to schedule the mandatory training that is included with membership cost.  Email is our primary means of contacting members so please email us as needed from the address supplied with your application.

Returning Members and New Members who have completed their kayak training will have the current season's 'CKC Membership Card' mailed to them.  If you went to training and were not given a card upon completion please contact info@cantonkayakclub.com  and we will gladly send you one.

Canton Kayak Club Social Outlets

Paddle Pals is great way to meet other club members throughout the season. These outings are enjoyed by our 'newbies' and returning members alike. This group paddle is a lovely way to unwind with new kayak friends and Board members.  Paddle Pals does NOT take place in the rain.

Happy Hours are another opportunity to meet members and Board members.  We enjoy hearing your feedback and spending time sharing stories of fun kayak adventures.  These events take place throughout the season and are another way to enjoy Baltimore city while meeting new kayak friends.

The Forum is a platform within the website and is for members only.  You can post questions, suggestions, concerns, kayak anecdotes, your photos and make arrangements to paddle with others!

Kick Off Party & Summer Bash These annual CKC gatherings take place in April and August respectively and are the clubs way of welcoming and thanking its members.  We come together to offer information on upcoming events and opportunities related to the club and the local kayak community.

Club Enhancements

ISLAND VIEW WATERFRONT CAFE DOCK Added late in the 2009 season and providing members access to a huge new region of the Chesapeake Bay water!  Paddle the Middle and the Back River tributaries and explore Hart Miller Island! We stocked this dock with the longer 17' Venture kayaks because of the access to the wide open bay conditions.  We are recommending that this location be used by confident and experienced CKC paddlers ONLY if paddling to Hart Miller Island.  If you are less experienced and still want to explore this location we recommend that when leaving the Island View launch that you go LEFT and stay against the shoreline. By taking this route there are plenty of beautiful bay coves to explore without the open bay conditions.

We are implementing a 'Kayak Usage Log Book' to be used for member safety at the Island View Waterfront Cafe Dock. Members MUST sign-out kayaks by stating your trip details: date and time when you leave, your anticipated return, and your contact info. The Log Book can be found in a wooden box on the kayak rack, you can't miss it.  Happy Kayaking!

**If you have any questions about this new, required procedure please contact your CKC Board at info@cantonkayakclub.com.
