Nick's Fish House
2600 Insulator Drive
Baltimore, MD 21230
This is the CKC's southernmost location, on the Middle Branch of the Patapsco. It's an easy paddle to the Masonville Cove Nature Area, where paddlers can land at the public kayak pier and explore the park. Or paddle around the far side of Harbor Hospital and head upriver on the Patapsco for a dramatic change of scenery from the open waters of the harbor. New members who want to start paddling on calm water can go under the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge (also known as the Hanover Street Bridge) to find an enclosed area with almost no boat traffic. This location is just off I-95, with Nick's sign visible from the highway.
Nick's Fish House and Grill features one of the best-known waterfront decks in Baltimore, and in 2012, the Baltimore Sun said it "offers the sweetest setup for eating crabs within the city limits." There are craft beers available on draft, and there's plenty of free parking.
